Session Proposal Application

Session Proposal Process is now closed.

This year’s Conference Committee is now accepting session proposals. If you have a desire to motivate others and share your experiences, provide your knowledge and enthusiasm then please take a minute to fill out the session proposal form. The deadline is Monday, January 9, 2017 by 5:00 p.m. CST. Some topics and presentation ideas could include but are not limited to: Effects of PPY; NCAA updates; Recruitment and college counseling in uncertain campus climates; Parents role in college search process; Ethics/Legality issues. Multiple session proposals can be submitted and you can present individually or on a panel with colleagues. A committee will review all session proposals and will be in touch after the proposal submission deadline.

The MOACAC conference will be held April 3-5, 2017 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, MO. Instructions:

Please provide the following details with your proposal:

  • Target Audience (high school counselors, community college/transfer counselors, college admission professions AND beginning, intermediate, advanced)
  • Proposed title* (limited to 250 characters)
  • Contact information for session organizer (full name, organization, address, telephone, e-mail address)
  • Contact information for a maximum of four (4) presenters (full name, organization, address, telephone, e-mail address, and two (2) sentence biography**)
  • A 250-word summary* of the submission (describe the content to be delivered, as well as how your presentation will be new and unique from other sessions on this topic)
  • Previous presentations (other national, regional or affiliate conferences at which you have submitted or presented this proposal)
  • Additional information (include your vision of how you will present the session and engage the audience (i.e., case study exercises, large group discussion, hands-on activity, self-discovery exercise, etc.) request additional presenters or provide other information you would like taken into consideration during the review of your submission – limited to 50 words)

* Missouri ACAC’s reserve the right to edit/modify these items for length and marketing purposes

**Biographies must include one sentence with current professional information and one sentence with educational background. For example:

“Joe Smith is the Director of Admission at Far State University (WA). He has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from State College (MD) and holds a Master’s in Education from Near State University (VA).”
